SONISPHERE FESTIVAL organisers have issued the following statement regarding day tickets for the 2011 event:

In response to an overwhelming number of requests, we have been able to secure permission to put a strictly limited number of day tickets on sale via THE POWER BALLOT scheme. Due to the huge demand for day tickets anticipated, and the limited number that can be made available, we have decided to use a ballot system as we believe it is the fairest way to ensure that everyone has an equal opportunity to obtain tickets.

Fans should sign up at www.sonispherefestivals.com/uk before 23rd May, when the ballot closes. Successful applicants will be informed which day they can purchase tickets for via email on May 25th. Each customer may purchase up to four tickets for their allocated day. Tickets will be £80/day plus booking fee.

The day splits are listed below, broken down by stage, from the APOLLO and SATURN ARENA stages - timed to ensure no clashes so people can watch every main stage performance - to the BOHEMIA, JAGERMEISTER and RED BULL BEDROOM JAM stages, considerately timed to avoid any painful choices over the course of the weekend.

After a blood pumping, sweat dripping, solid Rock and Roll performance on a series of Sold Out Big Day Out shows across Australia, Airbourne are back touring their homeland this June with a tour kicking off in Traralgon VIC, rocking through SA, NSW and finishing up in Coolangatta QLD. The boys, hailing from country town Warrnambool, spent the last year rocking the world playing all sorts of big festivals in Europe and USA on the back of their 2010 release No Guts. No Glory. No Guts. No Glory was recorded in Chicago with noted producer Johnny K. The band relocated from their shared home in Warrnambool Victoria and moved into K’s spacious studio to record the album. Frontman Joel O’Keefe says, “Working with Johnny K was great, he's one of the boys. We basically just set up all the gear, chucked a few mics around and went for it! Good times!” Brother and drummer Ryan confirms the precarious microphone placement, “With this album, we threw the mics all over the building, left the doors and windows open and pressed record!" Airbourne are only back briefly before jetting off for another European tour, first stop Sonisphere Festivals followed shortly by a UK tour with Iron Maiden as their main support and then a headlining spot in one of Germany’s largest open-air gatherings, Wacken Festival, and that’s just the first announcement of the year! Aussie rockers Airbourne will be joining Iron Maiden on their The Final Frontier World Tour dates through the UK this July & August.

Airbourne have had a huge year, with the release of their second album "No Guts. No Glory" receiving chart positions around the world, sold out headline tours around the globe and a slot on just about every rock festival in existence.

With more to come in 2011, including headlining Germany's famous hard rock festival "Wacken Open Air", things are certainly looking up for these four boys from country Australia.
